
Understanding Anxiety and Its Effects
Anxiety is a mental health condition characterised by excessive worry, fear, or apprehension about future events. It can manifest in various forms, including generalied anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and social anxiety, among others. While it is a normal response to stress, persistent anxiety can lead to significant problems in daily life. Individuals may experience physical symptoms such as increased heart rate, sweating, and fatigue, as well as cognitive challenges like difficulty concentrating or making decisions. This overwhelming sense of dread can hinder personal and professional relationships, reduce productivity, and diminish overall quality of life.
My own personal experience of anxiety was crippling at times, my brain would often go into overdrive; I would berating myself for not doing everything, feeling overwhelmed, uptight, and unable to relax or sleep.
I’d find it hard to sit still; intrusive thoughts would creep in, and I’d be full of anxiety, feeling stressed, frozen in time, unable to do anything because I had no idea which direction to go or where to start.
This would then create feelings of burnout. I’d start to make bad choices, which made me feel depressed. Consequently, I didn’t want to socialize, and this would make me angry, causing me to take it out on my partner.
Then I’d feel all alone and think that everyone hated me. This all changed after finding Reiki and Mindfulness!
I knew that when these feelings started to creep in, I had a toolkit of things that I could use to calm my mind, bring me back to myself, and help me feel grounded and balanced. These tools and practices helped me to slow down my busy mind, process all of my feelings, and find focus, allowing me to work out what was important to me and what I could leave behind.
They helped me improve my mood, manage difficult thoughts and feelings, feel confident again, and tune into one wonderful creative idea at a time!
Reiki and Mindfulness helped me to have a better relationship with myself, enabling me to understand when I had enough energy and capacity in my mind and when I needed to slow down, take a break, and take care of myself.
Reiki and Mindfulness also improved my personal and working relationships. I now better understand myself and my boundaries, and I have more confidence, which means I am able to express my needs and wants.
I have a deeper understanding of who in my life is a safe, secure person and who loves and respects me, just as I love and respect myself.

Supports Emotional Healing: Reiki can facilitate the release of pent-up emotions and trauma, allowing individuals to process their feelings and move toward emotional healing.
Improves Sleep Quality: By reducing stress and promoting relaxation, Reiki can improve sleep quality, which is often disrupted by anxiety. Better sleep can lead to improved mental clarity and emotional resilience.
